d&w street eatery tacos

D&W Street Eatery Food truck visited our subdivision this week. D&W Street Eatery (https://www.facebook.com/DWStreetEatery/) is a Latin-American style food truck that serves nachos, tacos, burritos with your choice of pulled pork, ground beef, smoked pulled chicken or smoked beets.

I got the Dirty Smoked Burritos with the applewood smoked pulled chicken and one with the BBQ pulled pork and a side of street corn.  The kids went with the Smokin’ street tacos and 2 orders of the wide load nachos.

The Tasty

I really liked the quick fried flour tortilla burrito.  I recommend the pulled pork over the chicken as the pulled pork had more flavor.  I enjoyed the banana peppers as well. The kids enjoyed the tacos and gave it a 8 out of 10.

I also like the array of hot sauces available to spice up the dish and add to the heat profile.

Tasty Improvements

#1 Upgrade the nacho chips with your order

If you are going to get the nachos, upgrade to the fresh made torti nips vs. the standard corn tortilla chips you get at the ball game.  If the Wide Load nachos came with the fresh chips as standard, this dish would have been awesome with the pulled pork.

I just couldn’t justify $17 for nachos.

#2 Street corn wasn’t street corn

I was excited to see street corn on the menu and thought it was going to be like the street corn in a bowl similar to M Cantina (https://www.facebook.com/mcantina13214/)
However, it was just canned corn with bbq, cotija cheese and some green onion. I’m a street corn fan so I had hope for more.

#3 Be prepared for a high price point for mexican fare

The truck is expensive for tacos, burritos and nachos…however, it is a food truck so finding creative dishes that are mobile to you come with a higher price tag.
